Oreo, Chip, and Friends

Saturday June 24th

What Do You Know is a local rehab, retraining and rehoming facility specializing in at risk horses and surrenders. Saving horses since 2016 and expanding to saving other farm animals in 2022. Their main goal is to educate the public on the over breeding of horses and to help with the overpopulation by gelding (fixing) them. They also help horses with behavioural problems or that may need to cross the rainbow bridge.

In 2018 Oreo was taken in to have him gelded (fixed) to ensure there was one less horse in the world breeding. He quickly became a favourite and became What Do You Know’s mascot. He has attended many events over the years to promote What Do You Know. Oreo is now 8 years old.

In 2022 Chip was saved from auction as he was going for meat. Once he was up to date on everything he was available for adoption. However in the fall Chip attended his first event along side Oreo and had a lot of fun. What Do You Know has added him to the mascot team so Oreo wouldn’t have to go to events by himself anymore. Chip is 18 years old.

In 2017 Pooh Bear and Eeyore were owned by the meat man. They were the first donkeys What Do You Know ever saved. They currently live the companion lifestyle and are Oreo’s best friends. They aren’t huge fans of being trailered so they only ever attend Onion Fest. Pooh Bear is 14 years old and Eeyore is 9 years old.

Early 2022 Winnie was born at the butchers. Kid goats and lambs can’t be eaten when they are that young. Winnie was the first goat What Do You Know saved. She got very sick a few days after being born and lived inside the house (wearing a diaper) for four months before moving to the farm. She now acts like a dog and follows when doing chores. Igor was sent to auction as a 1.5 month old kid goat last fall and was bought by a butcher. Winnie needed a friend so What Do You Know bought him off of the butcher. He loves to follow Winnie around where ever she goes.

Brownie and Grover were being sent through auction by the meat man if What Do You Know didn’t take them on. They arrived in January 2022. The boys are scared of human interaction unless they see their food. They are slowly starting to come out of their shell.
